Meghan Trainor “Timeless Tour” Experience
After an 8 year hiatus from touring Meghan Trainor is back and better than ever!
Last week I attended the second night of Meghan Trainor's ‘Timeless Tour’, a celebration of her musical roots and testament to her evolving artistry.
While she has always embraced her doo-wop influences, the ‘Timeless’ album took it to a new level, drawing inspiration from the genre's pioneers such as The Beach Boys. In contrast to this, the album also features collaborations with rap icon T-Pain and up-and-coming sibling duo Lawrence, showcasing Trainor's versatility and willingness to experiment with new and unique sounds outside of what she is known to do.
The concert itself was a visual and auditory delight. In a room full of a mere 1,500 people, held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, this show truly felt as though it was a private show; and being the smallest show on the tour made for a much more intimate experience. It truly made you feel as though you had more of a personal connection with her the whole time.
Trainor's stage presence was captivating! From seeing her for the first time 10 years ago at the start of her career, to now, she is a much more seasoned and experienced performer! Her outfit sparkled in the stage lights, her voice was as powerful as ever, and the choreography to each song was super energetic. The set-list included a mix of new songs from the ‘Timeless’ album and her classic hits such as “All About That Bass”, keeping the crowd engaged and singing along all night long.
The visuals contributed so much to the full experience of the show, One of the highlights was Trainor's performance of ‘Timeless’ a heartfelt ballad dedicated to her husband and family. As she reentered the stage a video played of Meghan with her husband and kids, which was so adorable and added a heartwarming element to the show! Definitely got tears flowing from me for sure!
I think being able to see her close connection with her family made the song resonate even deeper with the audience, and Trainor's emotional delivery was both powerful and poignant.
Another favorite moment of mine was when Meghan brought her husband out on stage with her to dance! For those who don’t know she is married to an actor named Daryl Sabara; best known for his role as Juni Cortez in hit Disney movie ‘Spy Kids’, one of my childhood favorite movies! It was a very full-circle life moment for sure and so fun!
Overall, Meghan Trainor's Timeless Tour was a very memorable experience showcasing her versatile musical evolution over the last decade and further solidifying her undeniable talent. By the end of the night I had lost my voice from having a blast, singing my heart out! From the nostalgic tunes like ‘All About That Bass’ to her powerful vocals in ‘Superwoman’, she captivated everyone with her music and her contagious bubbly personality. The concert was a celebration of her “Timeless” artistry and a reminder of why she's a beloved pop star! I could go to that show a million more times and still have just as much fun as I did the first time!
