G-Eazy ft. Demi Lovato Breakdown Review

Honestly I have been waiting for this collab to happen, so i’m pumped about this release. The mix of Demi Lovato’s insane vocals and G-Eazy’s monotone rapping is perfect sound. Demi Lovato tells stories with lyrics and this song is no different. The lyrics to “Breakdown” are something that I think the world needs to hear in this moment. I think as we slowly break away from the pandemic, I think we can all agree we had some dark moments being isolated. Demi Lovato has always been a major advocate for mental health and I think the world will see this as not only a major hit but a mental health anthem. Some of my favorite lyrics from the song “Been fighting my demons, but they ain't fighting fair
But I keep saying that "Everything's alright, I swear.” I know that I have said this to myself in my head when I feel alone so many times. Lyrics like this to me are infinitely important for young people around the globe to hear this day-in age.
Something I was extremely moved by during the song was, when G-Eazy says ”Pouring everything on this paper my pen is on feel like I'm breaking in places they put the pressure on.” I love getting to hear how songwriters use their lyrics as therapy, writing feelings down on paper can truly make all the difference. Overall I give “Breakdown” a 10/10, I think everyone needs to hear this song
