Mimi Webb “House On Fire” Single Review
Watch Out! It’s America’s newest rising star Mimi Webb!
From the world of Tik Tok bops comes your new favorite anthemic pop hit House on Fire. As her first single of 2022 it is undoubtedly her catchiest song yet. The lyrics are full of sass and ridiculously catchy as she sings about getting back at a cheating ex by setting his house on fire. Despite the threatening undertone of the song, she describes a humorous plot as to how she will get away with the vengeful crime.
Mimi Webb has been one of my favorite new artists to come from viral TikTok videos as I’ve watched her career bloom from the start. More than once I have blasted this incredible new song in my car, with all the windows down driving down the highway and even more just dancing around my room. In this heavy pop-driven single she has you picuring the whole scene as it takes place.
The playfully constructed lyrics read:
I make friends with the head of police
To make sure he'd suspect me the least
If I'm caught I'll be out in a week
I got my story straight down to a TOh I'd say it wasn't me, hmm
And sure we dated once in a while
But if there was a motive, it's not enough for a trialRunning, I'm running back to your place
With gas and a match, it'll go up in flames
Now I know you're not at home, you liar
Now I'ma set your house on fireIf somebody goes and calls the brigade
I'll already be too far away
I bought a map and I planned the escape
I dye my hair, change my name.
House on fire is the first follow-up single to her recently released EP titled “Seven Shades of Heartbreak” (Reference my past review). This song continues her theme of dealing with all of the stages of heartbreak. At 21 years old Mimi Webb is taking the pop music world by storm and this single will only add to her massive “flame” of success. You can currently find her on a sold out tour with fellow Tik Tok pop star Tate McRae across the US.
If you haven’t already put Mimi Webb on your radar this song is sure to change this, I can never keep it out of my head! It gives off fun summer energy and will be sure to keep you dancing around! So crank the volume loud as Mimi Webb sets your world ablaze with House on Fire!!!
