Post Malone Ft. The Weeknd One Right Now Single Review
An iconic duo. Post Malone and The Weeknd have partnered up to release a new single that could not be more of a perfect mixture of the two. As the song begins the beats are immediately identifiable as being a tune by The Weeknd reminding me of his After Hours album but the pop style lyrics with an echo backing for avid Post Malone fans is known as one of his signatures in his songs. This will be the first time that the duo have collaborated on a track. One Right Now surrounds a storyline of an unfaithful relationship where they relay the feelings of being cheated on, but they are attaining their revenge by singing the lyrics “I got one coming over and one right now” insinuating having an affair with more than one women at a time.
This single is the first look at Post Malone’s upcoming album that is currently in the works, similarly, The Weeknd has also been teasing a new album by telling fans via social media “The after hours are over and the dawn is coming”. With Post Malone and The Weeknd being some of the biggest pop music stars in the music industry this song is guaranteed to be a chart-topping hit.
Though the song is catchy I have to admit it is not my favorite release that has been put out recently. I hope there are more future collabs to come between Post Malone and The Weeknd because I think they have potential to make some awesome bangers.
Overall, One Right Now is 6/10 for me! I had high hopes for this collaboration and it just didn’t quite live up to the expectations.
