Dear Evan Hansen Soundtrack Review

The chills I had consistently covering my body through every single song is ridiculous. Being able to hear the transition from the original DEH broadway soundtrack to the modern recreations, it’s almost like time stops. From start to finish this motion picture soundtrack WILL bring you to tears, I do guarantee that. Something I really respect about these songs is that actors who haven’t sung before put all their efforts into making the music magical (Amandla Stenberg & Julianne Moore). I will be honest it’s a little confusing that the creators would add a new original song to the movie and remove some songs from the original DEH, that was disappointing to me. Connor Murphy’s dad misses the opportunity to sing the song about teaching his son how to throw a baseball and I think that was a really big moment in the musical that the film missed out on. The addition of artists such as FINNEAS, Carrie Underwood, Dan & Shay, SZA, Sam Smith, etc. really made this album unique with all of the different arrangements from what the songs originally sounded like. I really enjoyed hearing all of the new reimagined versions of my all-time favorite musical. I mean how can I not recommend this soundtrack to everyone? However, I definitely recommend seeing the musical over the movie if you haven’t already.
Overall, this soundtrack is utterly beautiful and truly spectacular. Go see Dear Evan Hansen in theaters now!
