Gracie Abrams Rockland Single Review

Making music on Tik Tok is the new way of the world!
Young undiscovered artists are taking over with their talent and viral video clips. Gracie Abrams is just another one of the many success stories from the social media platform releasing a new single “Rockland”. Her music style would be what I would describe as Indie style rather than pop and this song definitely gives me Billie Eilish vibes. Abrams voice on this track is tranquil and soothing, a change in direction from some of her earlier releases. This song is not what I was expecting by all of its hype on social media. I was hoping for something more exciting to take place during the song but it continued its ballad style throughout the song, which is fine but was almost underwhelming. There is a slight build up in the sound but it never led to a crescendo. The acoustics on the song are beautiful accentuating her whisper tone, however, I believe her fans were hoping for more.

I will be listening to this song again for sure because I do enjoy it, but it would most likely be a song I use as background music as opposed to something I would listen to casually on a daily basis. It didn’t get there for me.
Overall this song is a 7/10 for me.

The great news is this is the beginning for Gracie Abrams!! This is definitely an intro project to a future EP or album coming soon, I can feel it. Really a well done song! Go stream “Rockland” now!
