It’s finally here! Jesse McCartney has dropped his 5th studio album. From the start you can already hear that this album has evolved from the days of the early 2000’s into the present 2020’s. The entire album is a love-letter to his fiancé, which in my opinion, is one of the best ways of all time to express feelings for significant others. Track 4 titled “Friends” definitely could be a fun party tune that I find myself wanting to dance poolside with all of my friends, as it is one of the more upbeat and rhythmic songs on this album. I could even see it being a good track for Tik Tok trends. The younger generation these days on Tik Tok will appreciate having a tune where they can create content specifically for their friends or friend groups. Having heard a few of these tracks previously to the album coming out (Party For Two, Kiss The World Goodbye, Yours) and seeing him live just a few weeks back, I already have pre-disposed opinions on all of those songs and enjoy them all. I was hoping that with New Stage having already released 4 singles early that he would have more tracks added. However, this track-list only displays 10 songs which is fairly short for most albums these days. That would be my only critique, I wanted more from Jesse!
Overall I did enjoy listening to “New Stage” the full way through after waiting! I’m excited my first ever childhood crush is back on the radar of the music industry.

This album gets a 7/10 for me only because I was hoping for more tracks.

-XOXO Rachel
