Jesy Nelson ft. Nicki Minaj BOYZ Single Review

A highly anticipated release I’ve been waiting for!
Jesy Nelson has released her first single since her departure after 10 years from British girl band Little Mix. This new single features the queen of rap Nicki Minaj. After listening to her harmony tones for the last 10 years this release is totally different from anything she ever sang in with her band. Not sure what I was expecting from Jesy and Nicki but this is a totally different vibe than I’m used to, not quite R&B but also not quite rap or pure pop. It’s definitely in between all three with the angelic R&B tones of Jesy’s voice, rap of Nicki and the pop beats. If this is the leading single off of her upcoming album I’m very intrigued to hear what the rest will sound like. Not sure if this is a song that I am gravitated towards listening to on a regular basis but it is definitely a new step. I think if you are a fan of Little Mix as I have been for most of my life, you will be very surprised to hear this sound but also not that shocked as she always had a much different style from the rest of the girl band in the past. I’m glad Jesy took this bold step in changing her life for the better and doing what makes her truly the happiest! BOYZ is a banger!

Overall this song for me is a 6/10 it’s not my style but I am always going to be a fan of Jesy Nelson and in full support of what she decides to do with her career.
