Kelly Clarkson When Christmas Comes Around Album Review
Get out all your reindeer onesies and Santa suits! Kelly Clarkson has released your new holiday obsession, her ninth studio album “When Christmas Comes Around”
Let me just say even though I am Jewish I thoroughly enjoy listening to Christmas music and seeing the cheeriness it brings to everyone during the winter seasons, decorations are always so pretty! So Kelly Clarkson releasing new Christmas music is very exciting! New Holiday jams for the happy holiday season!! She does stick with some classics but with fresh and new renditions! She includes some interesting feature songs with country artists Chris Stapleton and Brett Eldredge. However, the collaboration we have all been waiting for is Clarkson and Ariana Grande. Two massive pop vocalists who are blessing our ears this Christmas! While judging together on this season of “The Voice” Clarkson released the announcement that they would be releasing a new single together.
The vocals on each song so far are just what a Kelly Clarkson fan would expect with her all too well known runs. I love how so many songs are original songs and not just covers of old Christmas music and she spaces them out well on the track-list. Not being the biggest fan of country music, I am actually really enjoying the collaborations between Clarkson, Stapleton and Eldredge.
Now for the long awaited “Santa, Can’t You Hear Me” single featuring Ariana Grande. This was an absolute banger, I know it will be blasting through my speakers on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!! They don’t over power one another with vocals, they actually complement each others tones well with Ariana’s infamous whistle tones and Kelly’s more alto toned voice. This was definitely a long overdue pop star collaboration.
I mean there is truly nothing not to love about this entire album, the new originals are just as good as the refreshed classics. Overall this album is an 8/10 for me! I don’t know about you but I’m even more ready for all of the holiday releases to come!!
Not long now until Christmas comes around!! (Pun Intended)
